Visa Overview

Russia maintains a multi-tiered visa policy, encompassing visa-free entry for citizens of certain countries, a unified electronic visa (e-Visa) for over 60 nationalities, and traditional consular visas for others. The e-Visa, launched in August 2023, allows a single entry and a stay of up to 30 days within its 120-day validity, processed within 4 calendar days for approximately 52 USD. Notably, from June 30, 2025, visa-free travelers must digitally register via the RuID mobile application at least 72 hours before entry. Additionally, effective September 1, 2024, Russia relaxed temporary residence permit requirements for eligible foreign nationals, allowing applications without quotas or Russian language proficiency for those already in the country on any visa type.

Travel Tips
