Mexico visas
Mexico offers a welcoming visa policy, with visa-free entry for over 70 nationalities and simplified entry for residents/visa holders of key global powers. Recent updates include a new electronic visa system for eligible air travelers, streamlining the application process.
Visa Overview
Mexico maintains a generally open visa policy, granting visa-free entry for tourism, business, or transit for up to 180 days to citizens of over 70 countries. Additionally, individuals holding valid permanent residency or unexpired visas from the United States, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, or the Schengen Area are also exempt from requiring a Mexican visa for non-paid activities. All visitors must obtain a Multiple Migration Form (FMM). Recent policy changes in 2025-2026 include the introduction of a new electronic visa (e-Visa) system for certain air travelers who previously required a traditional visa, aiming to digitize and simplify applications. Visa fees and residency requirements, including economic solvency criteria, were also updated in 2026.
